In April 2018, the Oxford Instruments Laboratory, Inc., a non-profit, non-commercial organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with disabilities, announced the creation of a new 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization.

The new nonprofit organization is called Oxford Instruments, Inc. (OII), which stands for “Oxford Instruments, LLC.”

Oxford instruments is an online resource for people with autism spectrum disorder (ASD), autism spectrum disorders (ASDs), and related conditions, with a goal to provide access to instruments, materials, services, and support for people living with autism and other disabilities.

Oxford has been serving people with intellectual disability and their families since its founding in 2015, and it is the first and only accredited nonprofit to receive accreditation by the American Association for the Deaf (AAAD).

The OII’s mission is to:1) offer free online access to educational and scientific resources, information, and materials to the general public, for people who have intellectual disabilities;2) provide free online learning opportunities for people, who have disabilities, who need to improve their understanding of science and technology;3) provide access and support to educational resources, for those with intellectual disabilities, that are available through private and public institutions, government agencies, and private businesses;4) develop and share educational and research materials, to enable people to understand the scientific and technological advances that impact their lives;5) develop educational and public health tools, and facilitate the development of public health guidelines and guidelines for use by the public and private sectors, to help people understand the science and technologies affecting their lives and to prepare them for their future.
